Michigan planning to close two prisons

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – A senate budget subcommittee has approved closing two Michigan prisons and housing some of their inmates in a privately run facility instead.
A spending bill estimates almost $47 million in annual savings.
It does not specify which two of Michigan’s 31 prisons would be closed.
